About

I am a man of many passions. A Christian Faith, certainly. Football (of the collegiate variety, por favor), of course. Star Wars novels – why yes. And how could we forget about the pursuit of the world’s most inspiring breakfast cereals, potato chips, and altogether fanciful end-cap grocery items which beg to be tried?

If you share any one of these interests, you might find this site a useful way to break up the monotony of your day. Dare I say, if I’m successful in this enterprise of storytelling and reflection, you might even be moved to smile, chuckle, or — if you’re truly bold — to stand at your desk and salute your computer screen.

Well don’t. Not only would this put you in an extremely awkward position in front of your coworkers or classmates, but it would be to give me too much credit as a writer. Because even while I alone write this blog, it’s not a blog about me. It’s a blog about emotions, memories, and the kinds of experiences one gets from living vicariously through a careful dissection of the counter option or crunch of a potato chip.

Truth be told, I’d love to bring all my interests and passions to the table with this blog, but I’ll refrain from doing so. I’ve found there aren’t too many people who share all the exact same interests I do, and at the risk of alienating the foodie who could care less about Han Solo or the Phil Steele reading sports geek who wouldn’t know the difference between a mcnugget and a tender, I’ll stick to the food reviews and football musings. Given the strong importance faith plays in my life, however, I will offer up a Bible verse, quote, or poem each Sunday, if for no other reason than reflection and profession for my thankfulness unto God for giving me this love of Saturday’s in the fall and nostalgic cereal insights.

So pull up your bean bag chair, straighten that tie, and pour yourself some Froot Loops while making yourself at home. I’m glad you stopped by, and humbled by your interest.
